It's the most wonderful time of the year again. A time for family, friends, food, drinks, parties, and maybe even some Murder!
We firmly believe that one of the best ways to spice up your holiday season this year is with a Murders Inc Murder Mystery Party. We have two holiday themes to die for, including Home for the Holidays where you play as a drama-filled family attempting to navigate through the Holidays, and our newest Christmas theme, Murder at the North Pole, which focuses on an ill-fated Christmas Party thrown by Mr. and Mrs. Claus (also available in a PG Version).
Once you've decided on the best theme for you, it's time to start planning your party! This year, we've decided to put together two fun holiday drink recipes for you to serve to your future victims... oops, we meant guests.
Peppermint White Russian
One thing you should know about us is that we like our drinks simple and delicious, and it doesn't get much simpler and more delicious than a White Russian!
In our opinion, sticking with simple, fun drinks will free up your time as a party host and allow you to focus on the murders at hand. White Russians only take a minute or two to make and stick to three simple ingredients: Vodka, Kahlua, and a heavy cream of your choice.
For this drink, we chose Peppermint Mocha Liquid Coffee Creamer. It's easily available around the holiday season and delicious! Depending on your taste buds, you could also choose Pumpkin Spice, Vanilla, or Carmel creamer as well. If you're feeling adventurous, you could snag a few different flavors and have your own White Russian Bar.
Without further ado, here is the recipe to create this tasty peppermint treat:
PEPPERMINT WHITE RUSSIAN
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Vodka
1 oz Kahlua
1 oz Peppermint Mocha Creamer (If you like things sweeter, try 1.5 oz)
Optional: Crushed Candy Canes for Rim
INSTRUCTIONS
Rim your glass with crushed Candy Canes
Put a few ice cubes into your glass
Add Vodka, Kahlua, and Peppermint Creamer to the glass
Stir & Enjoy!
For a frothier drink, you can also shake the Vodka, Kahlua, and Peppermint Creamer in a cocktail shaker with ice, then strain it into the glass
This drink is best made and served fresh, in our opinion. Since it's so quick and easy, another way to free up your hands as the party host is to leave the bottles out in an open spot for guests to mix, possibly including some quick instructions on how to put the drink together.
Next up we have...
The Naughty Elf
The Naughty Elf is lighter than the previous drink and would be great to premix before the party or make in larger quantities and serve in a pitcher or bowl so that guests can help themselves.
For this drink, you really only need four simple ingredients: Cranberry Juice, Sprite, Vodka, and Orange Liquor. We decided to spice things up a little and also added some Ginger Liquor. It's a little harder to find but we grabbed a delicious bottle from a local company here in Oregon called Spiritopia, and we're so glad we found them! It adds just the extra holiday flavor we were looking for.
We've seen other variations of this drink online that include extra types of liquors but, again, we like to keep things as simple as possible while party hosting!
And now, the delicious recipe for The Naughty Elf:
THE NAUGHTY ELF
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Sprite
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Orange Liquor
Optional: 0.5 oz Ginger Liquor
Optional: Holiday Sprinkles (We chose gold, but any will do!)
INSTRUCTIONS
Rim your glass with Holiday Sprinkles
Add ice to the glass
In a cocktail mixer or separate glass, add Cranberry Juice and Liquors then shake or stir the mixer
Pour contents of cocktail mixer into rimmed glass
Top with Sprite
Enjoy!
Try doubling or tripling the recipe to be prepared with more drinks for those naughty elves that are sure to be wanting more!
And those are our drink recipes for this holiday season! Please drinks responsibly and have a killer party.
